A meeting with the inmates, their children and their families
CORA’S DREAM
“We believe it is important to support awareness on topics that are important for the growth of children and young people, such as the emotional relationship between parents and children in the event of painful experiences.”
How can we forget our first readings as children, the feeling of wonder that comes from identifying with the protagonist of events that take shape between the pages of a good book? Cora’s Dream is a tender and delicate story, a story that can help children with a parent in prison and their families to process the experience of separation and distance.
As part of the Agroecology project – now in its second year at the S. Michele prison institute in Alessandria, coordinated by the agronomist Paolo Marin and financed with the funds of the 8xMille of the Italian Hindu Union – a meeting with the inmates, their children and their families took place at the institute on 12 December 2019 for the presentation of the book “Il sogno di Cora” (Carthusia editions).
The author Emanuela Nava has given voice to moving words of suffering and hope and touching dialogues. We believe it is important to support awareness on important topics for the growth of children and young people, such as the emotional relationship between parents and children in the event of painful experiences.
With this spirit, the Italian Hindu Union wanted to support the project by donating, on the occasion of the meeting, a copy of the book to the children of prisoners, a special book that can be an important tool to help express feelings and moods.
